Why Puerto Rico?
Puerto Rico is a beautiful island located between the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. It is a U.S. terriotry and has the same travel requirements if you were flying state-to-state.
With many different activites, Puerto Rico offers something for every vacationer. The island is only 110 miles long and 35 miles wide. This makes traveling to do and see what you would like an easy delight.
During your vacation you can experience: the Bioluminescent Bay, beaches, snorkeling, scuba, sports fishing, El Yunque National Rainforest, kayaking, surfing, catamaran tours, ATV rides, horseback riding, ziplines, natural rainforest pools, and sailing.
Some day trips that you can take are: exploring historical Old San Juan, touring the rum distillery, visiting coffe or cacao plantations, kayaking to Gilligan's Island, riding the ferry to neighboring Culebra or Vieques islands.
You should come to Puerto Rico!
When Ben and I first got married we would always talk about how wonderful it would be to travel to different places and experience different cultures outside of the U.S. I still remember saving up what seemed like every nickel and dime to go on our first cruise. We went with some friends on a Caribbean cruise and fell completely head over heels for the area. It was amazing the difference in cultures, languages, food, and people between each of the islands that populated this area. From that cruise, we have taken repeat couple and family vacations with our children to our favorite island of the Caribbean, Puerto Rico.
You may think that you’d get bored quickly on such a small island but we are happy to say that as a couple and as a family we have always found something new and exciting to do. It was here in Puerto Rico where our boys first started speaking Spanish (thank heaven for their talented dad), were brave enough to try foods that I’m sure they would not even consider eating at home, learned to snorkel in the ocean, and discovered about all the different native and non-native species of plants and animals that populate this island.
We made fast friends with people who live on the island fulltime, some islanders and some transplants, and we have continued to keep in touch with and visit on our return trips to Puerto Rico. There was always the running joke of when we were going to get sick of the snow and move down to the island ourselves, and then one day Ben and I asked each other, “What if we really did move down there someday? Do you think we really could?” Then that led to figuring out what the first step was toward that goal and when we identified that step, we took it: We bought a house in Puerto Rico!
This house is a piece of our dream that we want to share with you to give you the opportunity to experience this amazing place that we fell in love with. Come make memories, eat delicious food, shake off your day-to-day routines, spend quality time with those dearest to you, and take home a tan line and amazing memories.
